The text was both moving and of grea intereste. It is quiet approachible in content and very captivating as a book that covers a topic of interest that is worth reading.
good translation
Enables you to check the Dante quotes in Italian on buildings in Florence, and understand them as well, either in prose or poetry.
Dontay is one of my favorite authors and this is his must get book this book has illustrations to accompany the story I highly recommend this book to get.
This edition has it all good translations, good explicatory notes in the prose translation, and excellent italian text also. The drawings of Dore well transmitted. Though it is not a critical edition, it is everything else, and is more than worth its price.
A true delight!
My electronic version made it almost impossible to find the original Italian version, and the various English translations. It's wonderful to have Dante's lesser-known poetry, though. If it weren't for dicey navigation issues, I would give it 5 stars.
